A few weekends ago I was able to photograph Jen and Chris’ Pasadena wedding and it was sheer joy. I wish everyone could get married in Pasadena. I wish everyone could get married in the winter instead of in July. I wish everyone had the joy on their faces the way these two did when they first saw each other. Jen and Chris have been through cancer, a terrible car accident, and come out the other side more in love and more dedicated to each other and God. And I can safely say they are so blessed to have each other.
It was such a pleasure to be a part of their celebration and the beginning of their lives together. This wedding harkened back to my days as a wedding photographer in Chicago when couples would walk places, the ceremony and reception were held at different venues, and therefore there is just inherently so much more movement and opportunity for photojournalism. Like I said, if every wedding could have the energy of this one, I would be set as a wedding photographer for life. Jen and Chris, thanks so much for having me there! Enjoy!
The couple got ready for their wedding at the Westin in Pasadena 191 N Los Robles Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101
They chose to see each other before the ceremony, something I always recommend if it’s necessary to use the best light. And as you can see, this hotel has yummy light!
We took photos, hung out with the wedding party, and even ordered pizza before the wedding ceremony at the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena 500 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena CA 91101.
After the ceremony we proceeded to their reception at The Rococo Room at Cafe Santorini in Pasadena 70 W Union St Pasadena CA 91101.
This is my new favorite venue! It provided just the right atmostphere for mingling, dancing, and an evening of celebration. The decor was amazing! I heart brick walls and red tapestries! Yum!
