My Wedding Photography | Jenny & Tyler

On this 5-year anniversary week, I thought it would be fun for my clients to see my own wedding (and awesome photography by Gerber + Scarpelli). On June 25th five years ago, I married my best friend. Sounds cheesy, I’m sure. But it was the one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I’ve never looked back. Tyler, I love you very much. Thank you for making me a better person. I cannot possibly repay you for your unconditional love.

It’s funny, though, how much I have looked back at the wedding day. I can list for you (quickly I might add) what I would have changed, done differently, what I did right, and what I think you should do. After witnessing over 200 weddings and having one of my own, it’s impossible not to observe and compare. In fact, an Alders Photography manual based on the frequently asked questions I get, the things I wish I had mentioned to clients, and most importantly my own experience as a bride will go out to all new clients. But for now, all I can say (and have said to many a stressed bride) is that you are married at the end of the day, and that’s all you can hope for. Enjoy!

This week we are back at the White Doe Inn in Manteo, North Carolina along the Outer Banks (pictured below). We honeymooned here before my best friend, Thais’ wedding in Washington DC the following weekend and are so excited to be back. We are even staying in the same room!

June 23, 2010 - 8:41 am Kristin - Congrats on your 5 years! You were such a purdy bride! When you look through these pictures can you remember it like it was yesterday? Hope you have a great time on your vacation with your husband.

June 23, 2010 - 11:19 am Angelique - Va va voom HOTTIE!!! You looked GORGEOUS on your wedding day. Happy 5 years...hope you're having a wonderful time!!

June 28, 2010 - 1:52 pm Meghan - Gah you are so GORGEOUS! And LOVE that dress. These pics are beautiful. I can only hope that my eventual wedding is as beautiful as yours. :)

July 3, 2010 - 4:48 pm Sara - GORGEOUS! That first picture is stunning. Your dress is amazing on you. I love the photo of you looking out the car window. Something about it reminds me of how I felt right before our ceremony...the attempt to steal a quiet moment from the inevitable bustling all around you and from the nervous chatter in your head right before you marry.

July 19, 2010 - 7:07 am Andrea - Jenny... Oh My Gosh! It was such a blast to look back at all the fun we had that day. I forgot all about the flowered rings each of us wore that day. The pictures are fantastic! And you look spectacular in them. :)

July 19, 2010 - 4:44 pm Colleen - How often do you see a photographer who is so incredibly photogenic herself? Jen, I add my vote to the rest: you were indeed a gorgeous bride! You and Tyler looked incredibly happy and make such a beautiful couple. Congrats on 5 years of happily ever after!
