Cristina dubbed them as the unluckiest couple ever before their wedding. And I might agree. Their wedding fell on Carmageddon weekend (and when your wedding is in Beverly Hills, that is twice as awful). Their valet service bailed on them at the last minute. Their yamakas didn’t show up until Friday night after their rehearsal dinner. The ongoing construction at their house (where they were both getting ready) had been delayed and delayed again, impeding on their wedding day. I could list more, but I’m getting stressed just typing this.
And yet still, everything went off without a hitch. Everyone got there on time, a new valet service was hired, the men donned their yamakas proudly, and their house was ready. And at the end of the day they were married!
Cristina and Jordan had a charming, chic, wedding at a private residence in Beverly Hills. Meatball, their adorable bulldog stole my heart. She is so cuddly and loving, all the guests enjoyed petting her throughout the day. I just loved the yellow and orange decor and how they laid out the wedding, having the ceremony over the pool and then converting the space for the reception while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the driveway. The couple even surprised their guests with a tango. It was sexy, sleek, and loving – just what Cristina and Jordan are.
And I so appreciated the advice I had given the couple at our intial meeting about lighting during the reception. They had spotlights set up in various corners of the yard as well as green uplighting to accent the outer perimeter of foliage. They also included strings of market lights over the dance floor for ambiance. Killer. I could not have asked for a better setup. Including elements like lighting not only makes it more enjoyable for the guests, but makes your photography so much better as well. It allowed me to shoot the entire night without having to pull out my flash at all.
Cristina and Jordan, your warm laughter, readiness to give hugs, and love for each other shone through the chaos before your wedding and I am so thankful to have been there to document it. Thanks again!! Enjoy!
