Published Engagement Photography | Chalkboard Engagement Session | Style Me Pretty

It’s not often that engagement sessions are featured.  But when they are it is such a special treat.  I waited until today to let Meghan know it was published.  In fact, I called her at work and asked her to go to Style Me Pretty.  I just wanted her to check something out for me.  But before I could even get out that whole sentence I heard a huge. gasp. on the other end of the phone.  Priceless.  So wonderful to see their chalkboard engagement session on Style Me Pretty.  Meghan & Josh, enjoy!

Umm…you have NO idea how hard it was not to totally freak out in my cube in the middle of the office-you are amazing Mrs. Smith!!!!

Muckenthaler Mansion Wedding Photography | Veronica & Steve

I always wake up with anxiety on the morning of a wedding.  It’s a huge responsibility to photograph a wedding.  The photos are the only thing left after the day.  And I wake up with acute anxiety and pain in my chest on the morning of a rainy pouring wedding day.  But as I drove south towards Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton, the clouds parted more and more and more, leaving me with hope about the beautiful light and the possibility for some portraits outside.

Veronica and Steve have been together for a long time.  When I took Steve’s temperature about his nerves just before the ceremony, it was so clear that he was ready to marry his bride.  Just a few butterflies about being the center of attention (understandably!).  Veronica, too, was a full of giggles and laughter and excitement as she put on her wedding gown.  The day was going to be perfect.  And they didn’t let the rain stop it.  After the wedding ceremony, the couple turned to each other in their brief moment alone and murmered in each other’s ear.  Their love was so sweet.  And it turns out that the clouds did part just long enough for us to venture out into the wind and cold for some portraits of the couple outside.  They were laughing and soaking it all in, game for anything.  It was so enjoyable to document their love in those moments.  Those moments of tenderness, of seeing Steve dote on her and of Veronica cherishing him.

At their reception, I watched on as Veronica and a guest were tearing up over the magnitude of the day.  Steve turned around and saw her crying.  And the first words out of his mouth were of concern for her.  He wanted to know that she was okay.  That everything was fine.  He wanted to make sure her wedding day was perfect.  That is love.  Veronica and Steve, your wedding has been a long time coming.  I hope it was worth the wait.  Thank you so much for including me.  You two are so sweet to me!  Enjoy!

And I just LOVED Veronica’s Totes clear bubble umbrella.  You know I went home and bought two for myself!
